The bathing beach is relatively suitable for children. Access to the water is relatively shallow and the sandy bottom is soft. The water rescue of the ASB directly on the beach also increases safety. However, the lack of toilets directly at the lido and the somewhat distant restaurant are disadvantages.
How to get to the lido
By public transport you can reach the small Müggelsee best with the S-Bahn to the station Berlin-Köpenick. From there you can continue directly with the bus X69. From the stop Odernheimer Straße you have to walk about 500 m along a forest path. After about 7 minutes you have reached the beach. For car drivers there is a larger parking lot in the forest at Neuhelgoländer Weg. There you can park your car.
Restaurant at the small Müggelsee
Since there is no snack bar directly at the bathing beach, we recommend the restaurant Neu-Helgoland in about 500 m distance or the L&B Speisenrestaurant & Café with German cuisine and a terrace at the lake (200 m distance).
Dogs at the small Müggelsee
Who would like to take his dog with him to the lake will unfortunately be disappointed. Dogs are prohibited directly at the bathing area. At the lido dogs are prohibited. In the forest area around and on the forest paths dogs must also be kept on a leash.
Boat rental
If you don't feel like swimming, you can also explore the lake by boat. You can rent a boat at the "Bootsverleih Kleiner Müggelsee" near the parking lot.
Water quality
The water quality at the small Müggelsee is excellent according to the EU classification and approved by the LAGeSo as "suitable for swimming" (sample from September 2016).

Ein wirklich schöner Strand! Wir gehen auch im Winter gern dort spazieren.
Die Badestelle am kleinen Müggelsee ist ein echter Geheimtipp! Ein riesiger Sandstrand, kein Eintritt und tolle Natur. Da kommt echtes Urlaubsfeeling auf. 🏖 Wenn man mit der Fähre hin fährt ist es sogar noch cooler. 😊
